This route is located along the Great North (N1) road towards Zimbabwe and runs mostly along the Limpopo River in the Vhembe Region, where the traveler can explore attractions such as the Blouberg nature reserve. This route was used by traders centuries ago when they traded with Arab and Portuguese merchants on the east coast. It is worth it to visit the Mapungubwe heritage which proceeds into the heartland of the land of legends and myths – Musina, Mutale and Thoyandou.

The sacred forest of Thatwe Vonde, Lake Fundudzi, Dzata ruins and “Big Tree” (200year old Baobab) are but some of the sites worth visiting on this route.
